  • More sporting success...

    Well done to all of the children who have represented our school over the last few weeks. Our tennis and basketball teams represented Ashfield in the Nottinghamshire County Finals, competing against the winners from the other districts. Our tennis team finished as bronze medallists and our basketball team finished sixth.Several of our children also took part in the Ashfield Games. Our basketball team finished as silver medallists and won the Spirit of the Games award and our athletics teams finished as bronze medallists. Meanwhile, our cricket team had a wonderful day out at the Nottinghamshire County Finals and finished eighth overall in the tournament. Well done to all of the children involved.

  • Sponsored Field Run raises £1550

    Well done to all of the children who took part in our sponsored field run and a big thank you to everyone who collected sponsorship money. The final total raised was £1550 - a tremendous effort!

    Half of the money raised will be donated to the children's chosen charity for this year - 'Framework.'

  • Year 6 visit Scarborough

    Our Year 6 children had a wonderful day out at Scarborough to celebrate their time our school. They went on a tour of the castle before heading down to the beach. After a fish and chips lunch (avoiding the seagulls!), they spent half an hour paddling in the cool waters before heading for an ice-cream and a visit to the rock shop. A great day was had by all.
  • Sports Day Fun

    On Thursday 27th June, we held our traditional Sports Day on the school field. Events included the obstacle races, object pick up races and egg and spoon races as well as the traditional flat races. Blue team finished as the team winners and raised the cup, which was first presented in 1960.
  • Ashfield District Tennis Champions 2019

    Congratulations to our Years 3 / 4 tennis team who competed in the Ashfield District Finals on Tuesday 25th June. All of the children performed magnificently and demonstrated wonderful sporting spirit throughout. After several competitive games, they finished the evening as Ashfield District Champions 2019. Another tremendous sporting achievement!
  • More Sporting Success

    Well done to our sports teams who have performed magnificently this week. Our Key Stage 2 Athletics team became Eastwood District Small Schools Champions on Tuesday. Our Year 4 / 5 Quad Kids team finished third in their Ashfield District competition on Thursday and our Years 5 / 6 Cricket team won their competition on Friday and will now take part in the Nottinghamshire Finals on Thursday 11th July.

     

  • Our Sponsored Field Run

    Well done to all of the children who took part in our sponsored field run. They showed lots of determination as they ran around the school field on Thursday afternoon. Fortunately, the rain stayed away! The charity chosen by the children this year is Framework so hopefully we will raise lots of money for them.

  • Chestnut Class visited East Midlands Airport

    Chestnut Class had a wonderful time at the East Midlands Airport. They had a tour of the airport, made their own passport, tried on different costumes of the people who work there and they explored the different features of the airport in the amazing role play area.
  • Time Travelling at Southwell Minster

    Birch and Hazel Classes had a wonderful day out at Southwell Minster, taking part in the Time Travelling event. They were involved in a range of activities which taught them about Christian practices and faith. They sang the Time Travelling songs and our school received a special candle in the service at the end of the day.  
  • Year 5 learn how to ride their bikes safely

    Most of the children in Year 5 (Ash Class) have taken part in the Nottinghamshire County Council Cycle Safety course. They have learnt how to ride their bikes safely out on the roads - a valuable lesson for life!
