During the spring/summer term Mrs Sinfield started a year 3/4 7 a-side Intra Football Tournament, led by our house captains. The games were 10 minutes long so 5 minutes each way.

A fantastic atmosphere ,with lots of children and staff coming along to offer their support. The children displayed a great deal of skill , super striking and wonderful goal keeping!

The final was held on the school field between Floella and Richard Red. A pulsating game ending with a 4-1 victory for Floella.

A huge well done to all of the children who have participated in the tournament!

  • Cross Country Event

    Wed 24 Apr 2024

It was wonderful to see so many Underwood children taking part in this year’s District Cross Country event at Florence Nightingale Academy!

The children had to complete a challenging 1.5km course around Coronation Park; there were approximately 75 children in each race!

They showed amazing determination to not only finish the event but also to finish it so well: the girls did very well indeed and came second out of the 15 schools that took part – they missed out on first place by just two points!

The boys put in an extraordinary performance themselves – Harrison A in Year 4 came first and Isaac S came second and received medals for being podium finishers. Their efforts, combined with the wonderful runs from so many of the Underwood boys led to them being placed first out of the 15 schools and Harrison and Isaac collected the boys’ trophy!

  • Football

    Thu 25 May 2023

Last week, the Y5/6 football team took part in the 'Plate final' as a result of finishing second in the league. It was a closely contested match with both sides giving it their all. At full time, it finished 1-1 and then Larkfields went on to win 4-2 in extra time. They represented the school brilliantly and they should be proud of what they have achieved across the year. Well done!

This week, the Y3/4 football team played their first ever football match together. They took part in a tournament against several other teams from the district. They played brilliantly and it went down to the last game to determine who went through to the finals. In the end, it was Larkfields (again!) that prevailed. However, the children were amazing and it will be interesting to see how they do when representing the school in the future. Well done
