Welcome to the Summer Term!

Our topic this term will be......

'Mighty Mayans!'

This term, the children will be learning about the Mayans. They were a spectacular ancient civilisation who were skilled and amazingly advanced for their time.  They were master builders, skilled astronomers, used a complex writing system, they used advanced agricultural techniques, they had a complex social structure and a deep respect for nature. We will explore many of these areas and much more as we learn about this fascinating civilisation and how they  influenced society.   

  Our English text for this half term will be:

'The Final Year' By Matt Goodfellow.

Key information:

P.E. lessons will usually take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays but please ensure P.E. kits are in school all week.

Maths homework will be sent home on Thursdays and should be returned to school no later than the following Wednesday. 

Spelling words will be given out on a Tuesday and will be tested the following Tuesday. 

Children are encouraged to log into Times Table Rock Stars for a minimum of half an hour a week to encourage rapid recall of all multiplication facts up to 12x12 (individual logins are in each child's home/school diary).
