Hathersage 2024
On the bus, look excited we all are!
Yay! We’re here!
We’ve had a lovely afternoon. We’ve been conducting a river study and enjoying orienteering. We caught and identified lots of mini-beasts!
Day 2
We’re all feeling refreshed after a good sleep. After breakfast we’ll be fuelled and ready to catch the train and embark on our walk through Padley Gorge!
After we’d put on our waterproofs and walking boots, we walked across Hathersage and caught the train to Grindleford. We visited Padley Chapel and found out about the catholic priests Nicholas Garlick and Robert Ludlam and how the Fitzpatrick family tried to hide them during King Henry Viii reign.
Here are some of the beautiful views we took in during our walk…
At the end of the walk, we got into groups and worked as a team to build dens in the woods using natural materials. Have a look at how we got on…
After dinner, we went on a night walk. We were so excited and some of us were a little nervous! We took our torches and we had great fun exploring in the dark. Our walk finished with a campfire where we toasted marshmallows and shared our thoughts about our Hathersage experience.
