Rock and Stars Day
Wed 23 Feb 2022I would like to congratulate all the children and staff for dressing up as Rock Stars today. You all looked amazing! This theme day was to generate some enthusiasm for the children to use Time Table Rock Stars ( T.T.R.S. ). This web based software is to help the children learn their multiplication tables, where they get the opportunity to learn to work with accuracy and speed. By the end of Year 4 the children need to know all their multiplication tables. Multiplication tables are important as they help the children with many aspects of mathematics. We are going to be giving certificates out during our Achievement Assembly for children who have put a great deal of effort into T.T.R.S.
Please enjoy the selection of photos from our exciting day.

Hathersage Day 2 - Padley Gorge
Thu 07 Oct 2021We have had a fantastic day today. We caught the train to Padley Gorge, where we visited Padley Chapel and learnt about the sad story of the Padley Martyrs. We trecked back to Hathersage, pausing to admire the scenic views, climbing a very steep incline plane and also creating our own forest art. After scrubbing our boots, we had pizza, salad and treacle sponge. Finally, we finished the evening with the film Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Hathersage Residential Visit - Day 1
Wed 06 Oct 2021Good evening all,
We have arrived safely at St. Michael's Centre and the children have settled well into their dorms. This afternoon, we carried out a river study and went orienteering around Brookfield Manor estate. We had a splashing time in the river and found several crayfish. The children were very good with their orienteering exercise.
For tea, we had cottage pie followed by apple crumble and custard.
This evening we went on a night walk with our torches. At one point we switched our torches off and we couldn't believe how dark it was without any street lights.
We are looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow.
Goodnight everyone!

Ashfield District Council eAdvent Calendar
Fri 04 Dec 2020Our school will feature on the Ashfield District eAdvent Calendar this year. A group of our Key Stage 2 children sang ‘ Away in a Manger’ amongst the stable scene to wish everyone in Ashfield a Merry Christmas from everyone at our school. It was a tricky affair trying to avoid the noise from passing cars but they got there in the end! A big thank you to all of the children involved as well as Mrs. Denman for preparing the singers and Mr. Lake who filmed it for us. You will be able to watch the video from midday on Friday 11th December through the Ashfield District Council Facebook page.
