  • Harvest Festival Gifts

    Mon 03 Oct 2016

A big thank you to the children and parents who donated food at our Harvest Festival Service. The children and staff led a lovely service of thanksgiving and the gifts will now be passed on to Framework.

Thank you also to Reverend Anna who supported the service - it was Reverend Anna's last service with our school so we wish her all the best as she moves to her new role in another part of our county.

  • Kingswood - Day 4

    Thu 22 Sep 2016

Good evening from Kingswood. The week has flown by and we have just had our last full day of activities.

Everyone is safe, well and pretty tired!

Again, another very good night's sleep was followed by a delicious breakfast. Dorm inspection saw two dorms gaining full marks today - absolutely amazing (both girls' dorms - but one of the boys' dorms scored nine and a half!).

Today's activities included archery, abseiling, bush craft and team games and the children are now dancing away their last bit of energy for today at the disco.

For lunch, there was a choice of chicken burger, beef burger or vegetarian burger with chips ( I think everyone chose a burger!!) For dinner, it was either chicken fajitas in a wrap or pizza followed by a choc ice.

In the morning , we will be doing climbing and nightline and following lunch should be back in Underwood for about 2.15pm.

    See you soon,

    Love from everyone at Kingswood!

  • Kingswood - Day 3

    Wed 21 Sep 2016

Good evening from all at Kingswood. All of the children are safe and well.

Another fun-filled day. Everyone was in bed and silent by 10.00pm last night (honestly!). The children had a great night's sleep after yesterday's adventures.

Breakfast was the same as yesterday, except it was bacon instead of sausage. The dorm inspection was even better than yesterday with one dorm actually receiving full marks ( a girl's dorm in case you were wondering!)

Today's activities included low ropes, fencing, climbing, orienteering and canoeing - all of the children have now had a go at canoeing, which has been one of the most popular activities so far.

Plenty to eat once again. Lunch was a choice of chicken nuggets and chips(very popular) or jacket potato with a choice of fillings. Lots of vegetables and salad on offer. Dinner tonight was a choice of jumbo sausage or chicken pasta bake followed by a doughnut. Vegetable samosa was the vegetarian option.

At the moment, the children are taking part in a range of team games in the gym and will no doubt be ready for bed by 10.00pm (even earlier for some!).

    More news tomorrow evening...

  • Kingswood - Day 2

    Tue 20 Sep 2016

All of the children are happy and have had a wonderful day. After a good night's sleep for everyone, the day began with a wake up call at 7.00am. Breakfast included a selection of cereals followed by a cooked breakfast and toast. Following breakfast, dorm inspection was very impressive with two rooms scoring nine and a half out of ten and the lowest score being seven out of ten ( No doubt the children will keep this up when they return home!).

Today's activities included canoeing, drum beat, nightline, laser quest, aeroball, zipline and bushcraft.

Lunch included fish fingers and chips and the evening meal was a choice of curry or sausage roll followed by a choc ice. Plenty of food to re-charge the batteries!

The children are now busy singing (sweetly!!) around the campfire with toasted marshmallows and hot chocolate.

    More news tomorrow evening...

  • Kingswood Day 1

    Mon 19 Sep 2016
We are all here safe and sound. The children have settled into their dorms and have made their own beds! For the first activity, half of the children took part in fencing and the other half were orienteering. Dinner was a choice of lasagne or fish and chips followed by ice-cream. Tonight was Movie Evening so the children have settled down to watch The Simpsons movie . Lights out at 10.00pm tonight ready for an action-packed day tomorrow. More news tomorrow night...
