Indoor Athletics team perform brilliantly in the Nottinghamshire County Finals
Fri 24 Feb 2017Well done to our Upper Key Stage 2 Indoor Athletics team who took part in the Nottinghamshire County Finals yesterday representing our school and the district of Ashfield. They children gave their all, as usual, and finished fifth overall out of the eight district winners. With over 250 schools originally entering the competition this once again reflects an amazing achievement for such a small school. A big thank you to Mrs. Sinfield who has trained and organised the team over the last few months.

New Sports Kit

Elm and Willow Classes go back in time...
Fri 10 Feb 2017On Monday 6th February, the children in Willow and Elm Classes had a wonderful Ancient Greek theme day in school. They took part in a range of activities including role-play, quizzes and games and learning about Greek weaponry. Dom, who led the day, was very complimentary about the great attitude of our children and it was lovely to see them in their wonderful costumes. -

Christingles brighten the church
Mon 19 Dec 2016This afternoon we held out traditional Christingle Service in St. Michael's Church. The children read and sang beautifully and it was lovely to see the church lit by the candlelight of the Christingles. The collection of £76.56 will be passed on to The Children's Society. Thank you to everyone who supported the service. -
Christmas Jumper Day raises £140.20

Christmas Fayre raises approximately £1400
Sun 11 Dec 2016A big thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas Fayre. The school was filled with Christmas spirit throughout Friday afternoon. The children and staff created some wonderful stalls once again and we ended the day with an amazing profit of approximately £1400. Well done everyone! -
Years 5 / 6 Indoor Athletics team are Ashfield District Champions
Wed 07 Dec 2016Congratulations to our Upper Key Stage 2 Indoor Athletics team who finished as Gold medallists in the Ashfield District finals. They performed magnificently in all of the track and field events and displayed great sportsmanship throughout. Another tremendous achievement for Underwood School.

Years 3 / 4 Indoor Athletics Team are Ashfield District Champions!
Tue 15 Nov 2016Congratulations to our Lower Key Stage 2 Indoor Athletics team who became Ashfield District Champions tonight. They competed magnificently against the four other Ashfield finalists in a range of activities including jumping, throwing and relay races. Their determination and sporting spirit were outstanding and they were bursting with pride when they received their gold medals! Another tremendous achievement for Underwood School!
