Chance2Dance!
Chance2Dance is an annual event that celebrates dance in a non-competitive dance show, featuring dance troops from local primary schools. Children are encouraged to audition each year for a KS1 and KS2 troop. Rehearsals are held throughout the spring term by Mrs Peall (KS1) and Mrs Sherlock (KS2). The troops also perform at Mansfield Gotta Dance and our school Music and Dance Festival each year.
Chance2Dance 2026: Stage vs Screen
This year, our show theme brought us routines from the West End and Broadway stages and from the cinema screen with music from 007, Zootopia, High School Musical, Copacabana and more. KS1 leant into their rebellious side as they danced to a Matilda mash up of 'Naughty' and 'Revolting Children'. While KS2 brought the strange land of Oz to the stage with a Wicked inspired routine to 'One Short Day'. Both troops put on a fantastic show and Mrs Peall and Mrs Sherlock are so proud of their hard work and brilliant performances.
Chance2Dance 2025: Heroes and Villains
It was great to be back at Chance2Dance this year with our two troops! Both groups worked hard over the past term to put together their routines around the theme of Heroes and Villains and we were very proud of their performances. KS1 performed to a villains medley, including songs like Be Prepared, Mother Knows Best and Gaston while KS2 performed to a medley of When You Wish Upon A Star, Holding Out For A Hero and Zero To Hero from Hercules. 9 schools (comprising of 160 children) came together to present 14 different dances which all celebrated the joy of music and dance.
We are very excited to perform our routines again later this year at Mansfield Gotta Dance on June 10th!

Chance2Dance 2023: Inside Out
This was Underwood's first year at Chance2Dance and our KS2 dance troop did an incredible job. Our dance to Pink's 'Never Gonna Not Dance Again' explored the pure joy dance and music bring us and the determination to not let anything sop us from doing what we love.
Mrs Sherlock and Mrs Peall are very proud of all the children involved and we can't wait to share it with you at our Music and Dance Festival later in the year!
