 Ash Class!

The teacher in Year 5 is Mrs Eves. 

 

 

Our topic this term is......

 

'In a galaxy far, far away!'

This term, Year 5 will be exploring the fascinating topic of Space. The children will learn about the Solar System, including the Sun, planets, moons and other celestial bodies, and will discover how these bodies move and interact. We will explore key scientific concepts such as gravity, the Earth's orbit and day/night. throughout the topic , pupils will explore their scientific enquiry skills by asking questions, researching information and presenting their findings in a variety of ways. 

 

 

 Our class text this half term will be 'Rooftoppers' by Katherine Rundell. 

Rooftoppers by Katherine Rundell is a whimsical, award-winning children's novel about Sophie, a young girl found in a cello case after a shipwreck. Believing her mother survived, she escapes with her guardian to Paris, where she joins a network of "rooftoppers"—orphans living on rooftops—to find her mother, highlighting themes of hope, love, and ignoring the "impossible".

 

 

 

Key informationsmiley:

P.E. lessons will usually take place on Wednesday however we will begin swimming during the second week. 

Maths and spelling homework will be sent home on Friday and should be returned to school no later than the following Friday. 

Spelling words will be tested Friday.
