  • Easter Egg Decorating Competition, Easter Raffle and Rainmbow Raffle

    Tue 29 Mar 2022 P.Wise

Today has been a very busy and a lot of fun. Firstly, I would like to thank Mrs Hunt and Mr. Lindsey-Hill for judging the Easter Egg Decorating Competition. The children's efforts were amazing and they should all be proud of themselves. Please see the photos below.

Once again I would like to thank all the parents for there generous donations with both raffles. We have made  a massive £764 which will go into the school fund. The money FIS raises helps subsidise school visits, the pantomime, buying book worm books, sports kits.

    Time Travelling- Southwell Minster

On Wednesday 9th March, Year 5 and 6 had a fabulous day Time Travelling at Southwell Minster. The day was packed full of exciting activities from beginning to end and over the day the children gained a broad understanding of the Christian faith and its key values.  A particular favourite activity for the children was learning to sing in the cathedral choir. As well as learning to change the pitch of their voices, some children dressed up in the choir robes. This was great fun!  We saw some excellent artwork too and enjoyed learning about what each piece meant. It was a fabulous day, enjoyed by all.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 03 Mar 2022 P.Wise

On 3rd March, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of World Book Day – with the message for all children ‘you are a reader‘! The day was filled with lots of exciting, celebratory ways to promote reading for pleasure on World Book Day, and all-year round. We would like to thank the children for dressing up and for  bring in their  favourite books.  Also, I would like to thank the children for bringing books they no longer require. During the day, we had a story swap and where a teacher from another class read a story to someone else’s class. ( I  very much enjoyed reading a story to Foundation Stage).
