• Kingswood Colomendy - Day 4

  Good evening Underwood,

   

  All is well here in Wales and the children have enjoyed another wonderful day. After a long sleep, the children got up at 7.00am and had another delicious breakfast. Dorm inspection was even better than yesterday with the lowest score being 9 / 10 and several rooms receiving full marks - there's no excuse for messy bedrooms back at home!

   

  Activities today included the Leap of Faith, Nightline, Caving, Fencing and Obstacle Challenge. Many of the children faced their fear of heights when tackling the Leap of Faith activity and we were very proud of them. All of the children  demonstrated great teamwork and perseverance when tackling the Nightline and Obstacle Challenge activities.

   

  After a visit to the shop this evening, we decided to finish watching the movie rather that taking part in the Night Walk. The children then had a shower before crawling into bed. Lights were out by 9.30pm with quite a few children falling fast asleep immediately after their shower, even before lights out.

   

  There are two more activities to take part in tomorrow morning and then, after lunch, we will be heading home.

• KIngswood Colomendy - Day 3

  Good evening Underwood,

   

  All is well here in Wales. We've had another action - packed day. Virtually all of the children needed waking up at 7.00am this morning. After a lovely breakfast, we had a very impressive dorm inspection with most rooms receiving either full marks or close to full marks. 

   

  Today's activities included Laser Quest, Low Ropes, the 3G Swing and Bushcraft. .All of the groups had a go at building their own shelter and then creating a camp fire - pretty difficult with damp leaves and twigs but they persevered and many were able to start a fire. 

   

  Tonight was Movie Night so everyone settled down on comfy bean bags and watched Shrek - a calm and peaceful end to the day. Everyone was looking forward to going to bed tonight and lights were out soon after 9.30pm.

   

  Another exciting day lined up for tomorrow.

• Kingswood Colomendy - Day 2

  Good evening Underwood,

   

  We've had an action-packed day here in North Wales...

   

  The children got up at 7.00 am (quite a few needed waking up!) and we began with cereal and a cooked breakfast. Dorm inspection followed and Mrs Marsh and myself were amazed with the high standards of the dorms. Two rooms received 10 / 10 which is unheard of for the first inspection!

   

  Today's activities included the Giant Zipwire, Frisbee Golf, the 3G swing and Nightline. There has been a lot of great teamwork and determination on display throughout the day. This evening, we had chill out time, playing ball games and pool, before ending with the Mini Olympics activity. 

   

  Everybody was in bed by 9.45pm, looking forward to another exciting day tomorrow.

• KIngswood Colomendy - Day 1

  Good evening Underwood,

   

  Everyone is well, happy and now fast asleep here in North Wales!

   

  After a smooth journey, we arrived at Colomendy mid-afternoon. The children unpacked their suitcases and made up their beds (with very little adult help) before having a tour of the centre. They all took part in their first activity before having dinner - sausages or meat pie, mash and vegetables followed by a chocolate brownie.

   

  Tonight, they had a lovely time around the camp fire singing songs and telling jokes as well as toasting marshmallows.

   

  Lots of activities to look forward to tomorrow.
